Contents: 75 gr.

How to use

Sift 1 gram of matcha into a bowl or glass to avoid clumps.
Add 70–100 ml of hot (not boiling) water, around 80 °C.
Whisk with a bamboo whisk or electric frother until foamy.
Serve as is or add frothed (plant-based) milk for a delicious matcha latte.

Heel lekker!

Absoluut geen premium matcha!

Onlangs heb ik dit matcha-product van Herbolist gekocht dat werd geadverteerd als "ceremoniële kwaliteit" en "premium". Na het openen en gebruiken van het product merkte ik echter meerdere afwijkingen op ten opzichte van wat men mag verwachten van echte ceremoniële matcha:

- Het poeder heeft een doffe, olijfgroene kleur in plaats van de heldere, levendige groene kleur die typisch is voor ceremoniële kwaliteit.
- De textuur is wat grof en klonterig, terwijl het juist zijdezacht en fijn hoort te zijn.
- De smaak is erg bitter en samentrekkend, wat niet overeenkomt met hoogwaardige ceremoniële matcha.
- Eveneens is de geur van deze matcha absoluut niet te harden en komt die totaal niet overeen met de frisse, aard-achtige geur van de authentieke matcha die welbekend is. Deze matcha ruikt echter meer naar hooi van paarden.
Op basis van mijn ervaring en vergelijking met authentieke ceremoniële matcha, ben ik ervan overtuigd dat dit geen authentieke matcha is en vooral geen ceremoniële matcha. Ik hoop dat Herbolist hier iets aan doet of het product vervangt met de authentieke matcha, want ik denk wel dat ze zelf weten dat het geen authentieke matcha is.
