Description

The MelodySusie 100% Kolinsky Acrylic Nail Brush in size 10 is an acrylic brush made of one hundred percent kolinsky hair, with a reinforced ferrule so no hairs work loose while you sculpt. You will find it with the nail brushes.

Kolinsky hair picks up monomer and powder evenly and releases your bead again cleanly, without powder staying behind in the belly and clumping up. That is why the brush glides smoothly over the nail and you can take your time patting the bead out. The handle is a prism of clear acrylic, so you can see what you are doing and it does not turn in your hand.

Size 10 picks up a bigger bead than size 8. You fill a nail in fewer steps and work through a whole set faster, while you keep enough control to pat the cuticle area out neatly. You will find more tools and accessories together in one collection.

This brush:

  • is for acrylic, nail extensions and 3D sculpting
  • has 100% kolinsky hair, natural hair that picks up monomer evenly
  • is size 10, one step up from size 8 and therefore faster on a full set
  • has a reinforced ferrule, so the hairs stay put
  • has a prism handle of clear acrylic
  • never goes in acetone, only in brush cleaner or monomer

How to use

  1. Rinse a new brush through with brush cleaner or monomer first and twist the hairs out gently. A few hairs coming loose the first time is normal.
  2. Dip the hairs in monomer and wipe the excess off against the rim of your dish.
  3. Pick your bead up with the tip and place it on the nail.
  4. Pat it out with the flat side of the brush and work from the cuticle towards the free edge.
  5. Wipe the brush on a lint free cloth in between.
  6. Clean it after use with brush cleaner or monomer, press the moisture out and store it lying flat and out of the sun.

Questions (3)

Which size acrylic brush do I need?

The number stands for the size of the hair belly: the higher the number, the more monomer and powder the brush picks up. A smaller size gives you more control on detail work, a bigger size fills a nail in fewer beads.

My new brush is shedding hairs, is that normal?

Yes, a few hairs come loose during the first clean and that is part of it. Rinse a new brush through with brush cleaner or monomer first and twist the belly out gently, and it settles down after a few uses.

How do I clean an acrylic brush?

Use brush cleaner or monomer, never acetone, because that dries natural hair out. Clean the brush before and after every use, press the moisture out and store it lying flat and out of the sun. More nail brushes are gathered together.
