Description

The MelodySusie 2mm Flame Shape Cuticle Clean Nail Drill Bit is a flame-shaped drill bit for the cuticle area. Flame-shaped means wide at the base and pointed at the tip, and that is exactly why you use it: with the side you work along the edge, and with the point you reach into the corners by the nail fold, where a wide barrel bit cannot go.

At 2 mm the head is small enough to steer nail by nail. Use it on the zone where skin and nail plate meet, because that is where gel polish lifts first. See the other tools and accessories for the bits you use in the rest of the treatment.

This drill bit:

  • has a flame shape, wide at the base and pointed at the tip
  • reaches into the corners by the nail fold with its point
  • has a 2 mm head, small enough to steer nail by nail
  • is meant for cleaning the cuticle area
  • is cruelty free

How to use

  1. Click the bit into the handpiece and check that it is seated properly.
  2. Push your cuticles back first, so you can see where the skin ends.
  3. Start on a low setting and work along the edge with the side of the bit.
  4. Use the point only in the corners, and stay off the skin itself.
  5. Keep the bit moving and work with light pressure.
  6. Clean the bit after every use and store it dry.

Questions (2)

Which grit do I need?

Coarse takes material off fast and is what you use to break down acrylic or gel. Medium sits in between, for shaping and backfill. Fine takes off little per pass and is for smoothing and finishing. If you work on your own nail, stay with fine. All grits are at the nail accessories.

How do I clean a drill bit?

Brush the dust out, clean the bit with water and soap or a small brush, and disinfect it afterwards. Let it dry completely before you store it, otherwise moisture builds up. A bit that has been dropped is one you stop using: it can break while it spins.
