Brow Soap
Brow soap is exactly what it sounds like: soap for your eyebrows. You dampen a spoolie, run it over the soap and comb your hairs upwards. They dry in that position and stay there, far longer than with a regular gel. That is the whole trick behind the laminated brows you see everywhere.

What is brow soap?
A small pot of solid soap, usually clear, sometimes lightly tinted. It does not really add colour but hold: the hairs stick together slightly and keep the direction you combed them in. The effect is fuller and more textured than with a gel, because you leave the individual hairs visible instead of smoothing them down.
Brow soap or brow gel?
A brow gel sets and can be tinted; brow soap gives more hold and a visibly brushed up structure, but no colour. Want colour and hold at once? Take a tinted gel. Want mostly volume and that lifted look? Take soap.
How do you use brow soap?
- Dampen the spoolie, with water or a spritz of setting spray. Damp, not wet.
- Run it over the soap a few times until the brush is lightly loaded.
- Comb the hairs straight up, working from the inside out.
- Towards the tail, lay them out at an angle.
- Took too much? Brush through with a clean spoolie before it dries.
Draw first, soap after
If you have gaps, fill them first with an eyebrow pencil or a brow pen, and only go over with soap afterwards. The other way round you smudge what you have just drawn.
