Vegan eyeliner: the same sharp line, without animal ingredients
A vegan eyeliner does exactly what any other eyeliner does, just without ingredients of animal origin. At Boozyshop that is not a niche: over 200 of our eyeliners are vegan, about three quarters of the range, in every format and every colour. So you do not have to choose between your principles and a sharp wing.
What makes an eyeliner vegan?
Vegan means there are no animal-derived raw materials in the formula. In make-up it comes down to three ingredients: beeswax (cera alba, which gives pencils their firmness), carmine (CI 75470, a red colourant made from scale insects) and lanolin (from wool wax). Do note that vegan is not the same as cruelty free: cruelty free is about animal testing, vegan is about ingredients. Which format of vegan eyeliner suits you?
Every format comes in a vegan version. A vegan eye pencil or kajal is the easiest place to start and the best choice for your waterline. A vegan liquid eyeliner or eyeliner pen gives the sharpest line: a felt tip draws an even stroke, a brush tip lets you decide how thick it gets. A vegan gel eyeliner sits in between, creamy and intense, in a pot with a brush or as a gel pencil. And if you want something that stands out, the multichrome liners from Moira and the neons from LA Girl are both vegan.
Vegan eyeliner from which brands?
Essence, Catrice, Moira, LA Girl, Technic, Lethal Cosmetics, Naba Cosmetics and our own Boozyshop liners. At Essence virtually the whole eyeliner range is vegan (47 out of 48) and at Catrice almost all of it (44 out of 51), so there is hardly any searching to do.
Does a vegan eyeliner last just as long?
Yes. How long your line stays put depends on the formula, not on whether there is beeswax in it. This range includes waterproof liners that handle sweat, tears and rain too. If you want to be sure your line lasts all day, filter on waterproof.
How do you know an eyeliner is really vegan?
