Brow brush and spoolie for natural looking brows
Your brows set the shape of your whole face, and that work is done with small brushes. A brow brush is narrow and firm, so you can draw in hairs instead of putting down a block of colour. At Boozyshop you will find angled brow brushes, spoolies for combing through and duo brushes that combine both.
Which brow brush do you need?
For most people two things are enough: an angled brush and a spoolie. The angled brush has short, firm bristles and an angle that lets you draw fine strokes in the direction of your own hairs. A very thin precision brush is handy when you want to mimic individual hairs in a gap. For setting your powder or working out the tail of your brow, a small, slightly softer brush is nicer.
What does a spoolie do?
A spoolie is that mascara style wand. You use it twice: first to comb your hairs into shape so you can see where something is really missing, and then to comb the product through so hard lines disappear and your brows look natural. That last step is exactly the difference between drawn on and soft looking brows.
How do you fill in your brows with a brush?
Pick up a small amount of product and tap off the excess, because on brows too much shows up straight away. Work with short strokes in the direction your hairs grow and start in the middle or at the tail of your brow, never at the front. After that you can build towards the head of your brow with whatever colour is left on the brush. Finish by combing everything through with your spoolie.
Brow brush for powder, pomade or gel
For brow powder a small, slightly fluffier brush works best, because it lays the powder down more softly. Pomade is thicker and asks for a thin, firm brush that releases it in a sharp line. An angled eyeliner brush works perfectly for this. If you work with a gel or a brow soap, a spoolie or a small flat brush is enough to set everything in place.
How do you clean a brow brush?
If you use pomade or gel, clean the brush often: dried product stiffens the bristles and then it no longer draws finely. Wash it with lukewarm water and a little brush cleanser or brush soap, keep the bristles pointing down, squeeze gently and reshape them back into their original point. Let the brush dry flat or upside down.
